Cheap Digital Photo Frame?Everyone loves digital picture frames because they have a number of benefits, including slideshow viewing, MP3 integration and remote control access. The only problem is, not everyone owns a digital photo frame because they are simply too expensive. Most frames run around $300 all the way up to $1,000 for the top of the line frames! Although the idea itself is great the actual price tag is not. However, while the price tag on name brand photo frames is pretty steep, many of the technological minds of today have found ways to make a cheap digital photo frame. Below you will find one such method for building a cheap digital photo frame for less then $40! If you are looking for a low cost digital photo frame then this is probably the best bet for you. Here is a quick guide to making your very own quality frame at a fraction of the cost of name brands: 1. Step number one is to find an old laptop that you can run your pictures off of. You can search EBay, use one of your own old laptops (if you have one) or you can go to a computer shop and try to negotiate one off them. You should be able to pick one of these computers up for less then $30 and while you won't be able to run any extraordinary programs off of it, you won't be looking to either! All you need is enough memory and software to run a simple slideshow for your digital pictures. 2. Step number two is to find a frame that can hold your laptop. Usually a college diploma type of frame works best for hanging your laptop because they are deeper, bigger and more rugged then normal picture frames. You will have to make sure you have a frame that can hold your laptop securely. 3. Step number three is to attach your laptop to the back (with only the LCD screen showing from the front) of the frame. You can do this with a combination of foam and thick tape. Lay the laptop down on the frame at a 180 degree angle so that it is flat and put foam around the outsides. Next, tape everything in place so that when you hold the frame up the computer stays where it is and when it is facing out you can only see the screen, not the keyboard. 4. Step number four is to mount the laptop. You will need a heavy duty mounting system to keep your laptop up because it will be a fairly heavy frame with the laptop attached to it. Go to your local hardware store and you should be able to pick up metal mounts for only $2-3. Now you are all set; a cheap, yet quality, digital photo frame is yours for under $40!
